South Bank. Waterloo, London.
For the sequence of the large group running along South Bank, Craig positioned me with a PDX10 and said, “See if you can get
a close up of some of the public reacting and then maybe a wide of them running past.” When we first got to see the
programme at Channel 4, just before Christmas, I was very pleased to find that both of my shots had been included.
During the week leading up to filming at South Bank, Mike was uncertain about the group sequence and was asking everyone
if it was too clichéd to have them all stare into camera. I think the compromise was the group bursting out laughing,
despite everyone being told to keep straight face on the day.
